The Project: Development of a green field site within the settlement boundary
The Brief: In conjunction with a developing contractor we identified a site with the potential for residential development on the edge of a rural settlement
The Solution: The site that was likely to be very contentious with the local community as such we met with local planner, housing officer and rural enabling officer to establish the type of development and housing that was required in the locality. By doing this we were able to propose a scheme that met local demands.
Due to the scale of the site the development would need to include an element of social housing that would need to be in the ownership of and RSL. Due to our in house experience of delivering social housing schemes we were able to develop a plan incorporating the required number of units in a mix that suited the RSL that we had identified to work with on this site.
An option has now been secured for the site and we will be progressing it towards a planning approval in the coming months.
